Gunta Stölzl- Master weaver of the Bauhaus

Posted: Sep 28 2011

Gunta Stolzl (1897-1983) was the only woman to teach at the Bauhaus, the twentieth century's most important school of design, architecture and art. As the Bauhaus’s only female master she created enormous change within the weaving department as it transitioned from individual pictorial works to modern industrial designs. Her use of bold colors and graphic patterns is very inspirational to us!
